VIEW FULL ITINERARY

Arrive Kathmandu/Nepal:  You would be met by our representative in the arrival hall who would assist in all formalities to complete the immigration and visa requirements and transfer to hotel - arrive and check in.

Afternoon at leisure / independent activities.

Evening walk experience the hustle and bustle of the ancient markets of Asan Tole and Indra Chowk.

Morning visit Kathmandu Durbar Square in the heart of old city Kathmandu.Visit Swoyambhunath - a UNESCO World Heritage site, believed to have been established more than 2,500 years ago and now an important Buddhist learning site

Later visit Pasupatinath “Nepal’s most important Hindu temple stands on the banks of the holy Bagmati River”.

Afternoon Heritage walk to Boudhanath. The Stupa is located in the area of ancient trade route to Tibet where the Tibetan merchants used to rest and offered prayers for many centuries.

Visit a Buddhist Monastery near Boudhanath and experience a glimpse of Buddhism and watch the monks pray. Have an interactive session with a High-Monk (depending upon availability).

Later take a Rickshaw ride from Kathmandu Durbar Square to Thamel passing through the old Kathmandu city and local bazaars filled with local people.

Welcome dinner at the Krishna Arpan Restaurant at the Hotel Dwarika served in a traditional Nawari style and cuisine.

Optional: Wake up early and after a quick cup of tea/coffee, transfer to Kathmandu domestic airport for Mt. Everest experience. We celebrate with a champagne in mid-air.

 

Drive to Bhadgaon - enroute visiting a Bamboo School- Educating poor youth in Nepal with innovative and affordable private schools.

Arrive Bhadgaon or Bhaktapur (Place of devotees) was the largest of the 3 Newar Kingdoms of the Kathmandu valley and was the ancient capital. 

Visit Pottery Square, where you will see demonstrations by local workers, and buy all the souvenirs you can carry. Visitors also enjoy the sight of open space being covered with potter’s rolls and rackets of clay pots drying in the sun.

Taumadhi Square is the main entrance of Bhaktapur Darbar Square, and you will get to explore the top class wood carving houses and meet the charming inhabitants. Visit 55 Window Palace is located on the center of Bhaktapur Darbar Square.

Visit Golden Gate to explore some of Nepal’s finest shaped metalwork. Then Visit National Art Gallery to see the wide collection of Tantric cloth paintings.

Afternoon visit Patan city – founded in 3rd century and later expanded by the Mallas of Nepal.  It is known as a rich cultural heritage city for its tradition of arts and crafts.  Visit of Patan Durbar Square, Patan Museum, Krishna Mandir Temple, Royal Palace, Golden Gate & walk in Mangal Bazar.

Lumbini- birthplace of Gautam Buddha, is located in the Rupandehi District of Nepal. Thereare different

monasteries and pagodas built by different countries. Each Monastery has itsown design, significance and

importance. 

Afternoon visit Lumbini Temple/ Temple of Mayadevi: walk inside the temple built over the spot Buddha was born. Ashoka Pillar: stone pillar dedicated to emperor Ashokan Buddhist Temples: 2nd century BC temples to modern day temples. Lumbini Museum: historic manuscripts and items from the area.

Early morning Meditation / Yoga Classes under Bodha Tree.

Then a meeting of Monks under the Holy tree in Lumbini – The Birth Place of Buddha (Subject to permit)

Day explore monasteriesby rickshaw ride-There are many Buddhist monasteries and stupas build by the Buddhist religion delivers’ society from different country of the world. World peace pagoda-Peace pagoda at lumbini spring the message of peace in the world. Sacred Garden:The Lumbini Sacred Garden is famous as the birthplace of Lord Buddha. It was family home of Buddha's mother who returned here to give birth to Siddhartha Gautama, Also visit Bodhi Institute -Educates novice monks ordained from local communities.

 

Eternal peace flame-It is believe that the Eternal peace flame was burning for peace and prosperity in the world. International museum and research center- The Lumbini research institute and International museum is also located at the holy site.

Today, drive to Pokhara, the largest valley in Nepal. A mountainous drive and an opportunity to enjoy the

mother nature.Upon arrival transfer and check-in at Hotel.

At sun-set enjoy a boat ride on Phewa Lake - the second largest lake in the Kingdom. Later walk around the old bazaar of Pokhara.

Morning Visit World Peace Stupa and enjoy a sensational view of Annapurna Mountain range along with bird eye view of Phewa lake and the entire Pokhara valley. 

Visit the Devi falls, Bindhyabasini temple, Pokhara regional museum and a Tibetan refugee camp.   Later visit the International Mountain Museum.

Evening - have a high tea session with the Sherpa and an interactive session to learn about his experiences climbing the Mount Everest.

Transfer to airport to board flight for Kathmandu. Upon arrival meet and transfer to Dhulikhel, arrive and

check in at hotel.

Dhulikhel- It is located at the bottom of a mountain, and you can explore the spectacular views of the high

Himalayas like Mt. Langtang Lirung, Mt. Dorje Lakpaalong with several shrines, gumbos and monuments.

Evening: spectacular view of snow-capped Himalayan mountains considered one of the finest panoramic views in the world. When a blue haze covers the lower portion of the mountains, they seem to be floating in the air.

Transfer to airport to board flight forBagdogra via Delhi

Upon arrival, meet and drive to Darjeeling, arrive and Check in at hotel.

Early Morning visit Tiger hill situated at an altitude of 2590 meters (8482 ft.) for the magnificent view of the sunrise over the "Kanchanjunga". On a clear day, Mount Everest - the world's highest peak.

Return to hotel, en route visit Ghoom Monastery, one of the oldest Tibetan Buddhist monasteries in Darjeeling.

Proceed for Toy Train ride from Darjeeling to Ghoom and back (Toy Train: The spectacular landscape unfolds as the 2-foot gauge Darjeeling Himalayan railway, opened in 1881,)

Afternoon visit the Himalayan Zoological Park closed on Thursday), established in 1958 to study conserve and preserve Himalayan fauna, home to Siberian Tiger, Himalayan bears, red pandas and Tibetan wolves.

Visit Himalayan Mountaineering Institute (closed on Thursday),founded in 1954 to boost mountaineering as an organized sport in India. 

Optional: Interaction/Cooking demonstration along dinner with local family - Welcome by offering tikka and khadas(traditional scarves) to the client.   Then served a local Nepali drink with some authentic Nepali snacks.  This will be followed by some informal conversation about the city and the local cultures and then lunch will be serve.   Prior to the lunch they will be explain the dishes that have been served to them and their methods of preparations.   Tea will be served after the meal.

Morning Tasting Tibetan Tea: Tibetan tea is salted prepared using tea bags by adding butter to enhance and stir your taste buds. Another type of a Tibetan tea is prepared by adding lemons and honey and without adding any milk.

The proceed to visit Tea Garden - You will enjoy visiting this garden because you get a chance to witness actual tea manufacturing process in this garden. This estate uses orthodox method for tea manufacturing.

Visit Tea Factory, Tea tasting, followed by Lunch -There is no better way to immerse yourself in the culture, history and traditions of the region than by witnessing the process by which fresh tea leaves are plucked, withered, rolled, fermented, dried, sorted, graded and packed to produce a variety of teas:

Afternoon visit Tibetan Refugee Centre (Closed on Sunday, established in 1959, a home for the aged, a school, an orphanage, a clinic, a Gompa and craft workshops that produce carpets, woodcarvings, leather work and woollen items.

Later explore colonial connections & visit Chowrasta: Fun, relaxation & shopping.

Visit historical buildings dating back to the British Raj era and has numerous viewpoints, including one to Mount Kanchenjunga. The whole walk can be completed in about 20 minutes.Then visit Chowrasta Square is a fantastic place for people-watching, so do sit and enjoy the atmosphere for a while too. It is a perfect tourist destination for shopping and enjoying cool breeze of the evening.

Testing Tongbaduring sightseeing: It is a local brew quite similar to the beer which is made by fermenting millets. It is served in a bamboo made up of glass with a bamboo pipe. The drink is topped with warm water and is refilled till the millet loses its potency.

English breakfast at Keventer's Darjeeling: Those who know Darjeeling and keep coming back, to them Keventer's has always been a dear eatery. Having completed 100 years since it's establishment in the British Colonial days, Keventer's has made its own name in serving some of the best English breakfast, tea and snacks in this hill town. 

Drive to Gangtok, arrive and check in at hotel.

Gangtok-At an altitude of 1750m, Gangtok became the state capital in the mid-19th century and has undergone rapid development since then.The downtown area is dominated by huge government buildings decorated with traditional Buddhist symbols. Gangtok is also a resting ground for people traveling to North Sikkim. Surrounded by Monasteries and Orchids, Gangtok is truly a travellers delight.

Afternoon take walk in the city of Gangtok – Gangtok is a very small town, you can just walk. The walking street (MG Marg) is extremely nice, well kept, and is a nice relief to the honking chaos of normal parts of India and exploring the market. Gangtok makes a good location to explore the Himalaya mountains and do other activities.

Morning visit Tashi View Point-the expansive views over the hills including that of the mighty Kanchendzonga on a clear day make Tashi View Point one of the most popular tourist attractions in Gangtok.

Namgyal Institute of Tibetology-The Namgyal Institute of Tibetology gives a wonderful insight into Tibetan art, culture, language and history. The museum here is a treasure trove of priceless manuscripts, paintings, sculptures, masks and other works of art.

Rumtek Monastery-The iconic Rumtek Monastery with its superb awe-inspiring architecture and serene environs should definitely be on your list of places to visit in Gangtok.

Directorate of Handloom and Handicrafts-This Directorate was set up to promote traditional Sikkimese art and handicrafts. Exquisitely carved wooden friezes, intricate bamboo work, along with beautiful hand woven carpets and handlooms are on exhibit here. Visitors can not only purchase these items here but also see the artisans at work.

The Enchey Monastery -Perched on a ridge above Gangtok, the Enchey Monastery is nestled within lush woods with a spectacular view of Gangtok town. Built in 1910 on the site of the hermitage of the great tantric saint, Lama DrutobKarpo, who was renowned for his powers of levitation, this monastery houses the monks of the Nyingmapa Order of Tibetan Buddhism.

Visit Do Drul Chorten is a majestic stupa in Gangtok. There are more than a hundred prayer wheels here.

Today, drive to Kalimpong, Kalimpong was the British flocked to this part of the country in numbers, built great schools with high standard of education (which Kalimpong is still well known for), created lovely housing architectures in traditional British style that will remind you of typical British countryside, built several charity institutions and of course many flowering gardens. While the British have long gone, you will still get an essence of all these in Kalimpong. Arrive & check in at hotel.

Afternoon visit Flower Nursery-The climate of Kalimpong is ideal for the cultivation of flowers and plants.  Kalimpong is famous for its nurseries which export exotice flowers like Amaryllis lilies, Anthuriums, Roses gerberas, Dahilias, Gladiolias as well as Orchids and Cacti.

Zang Dog PalriFo-Brang Monastery – This is a fairly new monastery located in Durpin Dara, from here one can get an exclusive panoramic view of the town and surroundings. The prayer room inside the monastery is adorned with wall paintings and there is a rare three-dimensional mandala upstairs.

TharpaCholing Monastery -The monastery belongs to the Yellow Hat (Gelugpa) sect of Tibetan Buddhists. It is the repository of old scriptures and documents of the Gelugpa. Besides, the monastery contains statues of the past, present and future Buddhas. Enroute visit Dr. Graham’s Homes- This orphanage and school was built in 1900 by Dr James Anderson Graham, a Scottish missionary, to educate the children of tea estate workers. It was through him that Kalimpong gained popularity in Europe. There’s a small museum that commemorates the founder and his wife Katherine

Drive to Bagdogra airport to board flight for Kolkata. Upon arrival, meet and transfer to hotel.

Kolkata: Aptly known as the City of Joy, is one of the vibrant cities of India; enjoying every moment of life. As one of important seats of the British rule, it consists of several British monuments. It is also the centre of Missionaries of Charity, built by Mother Teresa.

Proceed to Kumartuli (Potters Colony) -a traditionally potters’ quarter in northern Kolkata, College Street Book Market, (Closed on Sunday) also known as second home to the intellectuals, scholars, academicians, students and book lovers of the city &Indian Coffee House for a coffee break. (Closed on Sunday)

Visit Dalhousie Squarethe oldest square in the city. Some of the city’s earliest and grandest buildings are located in this square. These beautiful buildings are still in use, providing a glimpse of Calcutta’s living British heritage. 

Victoria Memorial, (Closed on Monday)-A fascinating piece of architecture, which has been converted to a museum, hosts the most memorable artifacts and collectibles from the days of British rule.

Optional: Lunch under A Banyan Tree at Machaan, Kankurgachi -This forest themed eatery is brought to life with various colours and sounds of flora and fauna. From simple dining tables to eating under a banyan tree, Machaan is a welcome escape from fine-dine destinations

Then visit Indian Museum (Closed on Monday) - It is the largest museum across India and boasts exquisite collections of armor, antiques, ornaments, skeleton, fossils, mummies and beautiful Mughal paintings.

Later visit city Heritage buildings Post office, Government offices and Judiciary.  A brief visit can be made at the Mother Teresa Ashram spend 02 hours– Missionaries of Charity. (Closed on Thursday)

Morning visit Flower Market, Howrah Bridge and the vegetable market which is an excellent example of engineering techniques of the early 20th century” walk to Howrah Terminal. Back to hotel for breakfast

Visit St. Paul Cathedral Church - St Paul’s Cathedral is acknowledged as the first Episcopal Church of the eastern world.  It is an Anglican cathedral of the Church of North India. Besides, being a religious site, the cathedral is also an architectural marvel.

Visit Marble Palace is a beautifully restored nineteenth century mansion. It was built by Raja Rajendra Mullick

in 1835.This architectural masterpiece was built from superior quality Italian marble, which endowed it with

the sheer elegance. About 126 different types of marbles were collected from nook and corners of the country

to build this architectural treasure.Marble Palace houses a number of Western sculptures and Victorian

furniture.

Afternoon visit Tagore House (Closed on Monday)- The stately 1784 family mansion of Rabindranath Tagore has become a shrine-like museum to India’s greatest modern poet. Even if his personal effects don’t inspire you, some of the well-chosen quotations might spark an interest in Tagore’s deeply Universalist and modernist philosophy.

Moring visit Armenian Church Kolkata- The Armenians were the first to bring Christianity to India. The

Armenian Church of Kolkata is also known as “Mother Church of the Indian Armenians”. The Armenianpeople

came to India as traders and established themselves as a community on the Indian soil.
